Economics for Everyone Chile

The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago has teamed up with Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD) to expand its groundbreaking initiative, Economics for Everyone (E4E), to high school students in Chile.

How E4E Chile Empowers High School Students

In Chile, students learn not just the theory of economics, but its application in shaping smarter choices that impact their futures. UDD tailors UChicago’s E4E digital platform with localized resources to align with the national high school curriculum, ensuring real-world economic principles reach classrooms with local context. And together, they plan to research the impact of this program.

The initiative plans to serve students in public and private schools in Santiago, Biobío, and Valparaíso/ Viña del Mar. Current participating schools include:

The partnership doesn’t stop at students; it elevates teachers too. UDD offers a specialized diploma for educators that will begin in August, 2025, training them to seamlessly integrate economic concepts into their lessons.

Tailoring Resources to the Chilean Economy

High schools benefit from individualized lesson plans that meet the needs of their students, and the Chilean experience is rooted throughout the program. UDD has also created several videos that bring to life economic ideas and experiences in Chile. See the videos here »
